Wardrobe
Do:
The key point in a photograph should be your eyes. So when it comes to clothing we recommend earth tones, subtle colors, or even rich colors and jewel tones. Choose colors that are good for your skin tone and that you tend to get a lot of compliments when you wear them. If you have a unique eye color, choose a color that will draw attention to them. Also think about how the neckline serves to frame your face. Please remember to have your clothes ironed and without lint. Please come with your clothes ready to shoot. And remember, if you love what you are wearing, it will show.
Don't:
Generally avoid very loose, open necklines such as a wide scoop neck. Stay away from clothes that are too bright, have loud patterns, are busy or flashy because this may distract the focus from you as the subject. The same can be said for ruffles and logos that take the attention away from you. Please no white clothing because it doesn’t usually photograph very well in head shots and lighter tones have a tendency to wash you out.
Rates
Includes up to 2 hours of shooting and 2 looks.
We strongly recommend that you use a makeup artist and we can help coordinating with one the day of. Even the most natural look needs makeup and having a professional who knows how to apply it for camera and lighting is very important. For men it is also recommended particularly if your skin can be uneven, blotchy, or tired looking.
Please come hair-ready. A makeup artist is also recommended because they can help with fine tuning and will watch for stray hairs and fly aways during the session.
Remember, a key difference between the working actor and the non-working actor has been how seriously the individual treats themselves as a business. A crucial step in any successful business is marketing. So how you present yourself to potential clients, especially when they may only have a few seconds to consider what you are offering, is of utmost importance. To the actor, the head shot is an essential key marketing tool.
